Jefferson City, Our Capitol!

My wife recently took the Bar Exam over a couple of days in Jefferson City. This was the view from our hotel window. My son and I had a pretty good time. My wife, not so much.

  1. As a self-proclaimed Jeffersonian, I'm ashamed to say I had no idea that the capitol of Missouri was named after him. Assuming it was named after him.

    Lovely sketch.

  2. Yep, his Louisiana Purchase pretty much put us on the map. In fact, on the quad at M.U. in Columbia is one of his tombstones, pilfered after his body was re-buried at some point. Mizzou being I believe the first land-grant university west of the Mississippi. Thanks Geoff!
