A disturbing look into the sketchbooks and random drawings of Scott Quick, "Mid-Missouri's James Joyce". All drawings copyright me, Scott Quick, "Mid-Missouri's James Joyce", etc.

Roger-Roger
Drawn in an Applebee's in Marshalltown, Iowa, waiting for dinner. I'm sure I was channeling my son playing Star Wars "Battlefront". For some reason I felt the urge to re-design the battle-droid.
Try the Quesadilla Burger .... with extra Cholesterol!
What I want to know is why the battle droids had to say "Roger" at all, much less twice. They were centrally controlled, right? And Little Anakin takes them all out with a lucky shot to the Trade Federation ship. The Trade Federation engineers really didn't understand distributed systems, or the concept of "redundancy".
Yes, I'm the same Scott Quick who rocked the art community of Central Missouri State University during the mid-80's. The same Scott Quick who later made his instructors at the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon and Graphic Art (Dover, NJ) weep with joy. Disatisfied with the glitz and glammour of Video Game Animation, I've returned to Missouri to await the sweet release of Death. In my spare time, I enjoy watching TV with my wife and son.
cool and funny!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Claudio- You're too kind!

ReplyDeleteMy son lost on a Star Wars trivia question by referring to a battle droid as a "roger-roger" instead of a battle droid.
