I take my son to a comic book store every other week (following my payday). I'll pick up a few titles although there's nothing I follow regularly. Who can follow comics these days? Every character has a dozen titles attached to it. It's rare that an artist or writer stays on a book for more than a few issues, so there's no feeling of continuity or community for that matter. Most
comicbook artists I'm familiar with are dead now anyways.
sigh.
It's funny, I'll sit down and make an attempt at real
exaggeration, and when I'm finished with a drawing I find everything looks in the neighborhood of realism. I've tried caricature as well, with similar results.
