Possum, Playing

A rejected rough of a mascot for a relatives vintage baseball team. One of the advantages of being trained and educated in the "fine ahts" is that one is always available to provide clip art for friends, relatives and co-workers. This was a tricky assignment; making a possum look cute. Whats a possum known for? Being Ugly. So I tried making this guy cute- in an ugly sorta way. Too ugly. I'm going back to Guns 'n Broads.

Rubber-Devil Lives!

Around 03 or 04, my old Kubert School buddy, John Patterson wanted me to contribute a back-up story to a comic he was self publishing. He wanted a character named Rubber-Devil with the abilities of a Stretch Armstrong doll. A character who couldn't necessarily stretch like Plastic Man, but could be stretched by just about anything. These were his only guidelines, the rest was up to me. I had fun.
I was able to finish one story completely, another was finished to tight pencils and the last never got past lay-outs before the publisher fell through. Above is an example of a wide panel I was trying to figure out.

The Commodore

An early color rough for the "Commodore". I was still using rat-traps for his epaulets at the time. I later did a version in oil, before the final, award-winning, digital version. This is from 2000.
